Due to the Armistice agreement between the Coalition and the Alliance in Call of Duty Modern Warfare, Warzone allows operators of any faction to join forces with one goal in mind: survive in Verdansk.
There are many ways to express yourself in Warzone, but even more visible than flexing with gun skins or neat key chains is your selected choice of Operator. Each Operator comes with their own backstory, nationality, and set of outfits, as well as a deadly finishing move when you’re able sneak up behind an opponent.
In this list, we’ll be judging Operators based on how badass their look is, as well as how effective their outfit is in keeping them camouflaged on the battlefield. Of course, to truly appreciate the finer details of each Operator’s aesthetic, you’re going to want a gaming monitor that can keep up.
10. Dead of Night - Captain Price
Leading the pack of Season 4 goodies is the cigar smoking Captain Price, a longtime Call of Duty veteran recognizable by his signature bucket hat and flared-out ‘stache. While this original look is available at Tier 0, he receives a fierce upgrade at Tier 100 with his blacked out Dead of Night skin, battle ready for nocturnal saboteur missions.
All equipped with night vision goggles, SWAT gear and a monochrome Union Jack patch, Dead of Night Captain Price is definitely not someone you want to meet while walking the streets at midnight.
Don’t feel too bad if you’re on the receiving end. As Captain Price once said: “The healthy human mind doesn’t wake up in the morning thinking this is it’s last day on Earth. But I think that’s a luxury, not a curse. To know you’re close to the end is a kind of freedom.”
9. Rime - Alice
It’s a dangerous proposition to exclude someone whose baseline finishing move is plunging an axehead into your chest, (A melodic crunch that truly can’t be appreciated without a quality gaming headset).
Alexia “Alice” Valenzuela is one of the most dangerous members of the Demon Dogs branch of the Coalition, and a close comrade of the rampaging Texan Operator “D-Day.”
Alice’s Rime outfit can be unlocked with the “Chill Confirmed” bundle, which is appropriate for this sub-zero weather attire. The aesthetic clearly states “cold as ice” as this is one of the few COD MW Operator outfits that are similarly effective in the warzone and as streetwear fashion. Hopefully you never have to suffer the embarrassment of being axed from behind as Alice dismisses you with a disdainful “sorry ass FNG.”
8. Valkyrie - Mara
Coalition Operator Mara is great with a shovel, unfortunately the best digging she does is into her opponent’s gut. She’s a Venezuelan national who became a CIA asset at just 15 years old, and she has only grown more deadly since then.
The Valkyrie skin makes Mara look like a wartorn guerilla fighter, like if Aubrey Plaza were to get the part for the next Tomb Raider movie, but instead of collecting artifacts she’s collecting new victims to her kill count. Plus, the Valkyrie skin shows off Mara’s dope sleeve tattoo, some sort of raging kraken thrashing in the sea.
7. Revolutionary - Domino
A.K.A the official outfit of revolutionaries during the Coronavirus pandemic. Warcom Operator Domino is typically decked out in a standard issue military helmet or cap plus soldier’s fatigues with small variations in color. However, the epic class Revolutionary skin made available in Season 4 is a complete departure from the norm, as she adopts a terrifying hazmat mask with bulbous tinted eyes and dons a red beret à la Ugandan politician Bobi Wine.
If you can get close enough to see what’s behind the glass of her emotionless mask, it’s very likely you’re about to be liberated from the land of the living. Of course, you might stand more of a chance if you upgrade your gaming keyboard.
6. Firestarter - Krueger
Krueger is well known in COD MW lobbies as the faceless nobody shrouded in mystery, commonly seen in the battlefield wearing his heavy ashen combat veil. He just might be the most common Operator I’ve seen in gaming lobbies.
With the purchase of the Pyromaniac bundle, Krueger is able to evolve into the Firestarter skin which transforms the formerly shady creeper into a goggled red veiled arsonist. While his lack of a shirt and bright face covering, essentially a flaming target for even the most nearsighted marksman, may not be the most practical battlefield attire, it does look ferocious.
5. Venerated - Mil Sim
The Venerated skin for Coalition Operator Mil Sim is an epic outfit on its own, but it’s backstory is what puts it so far down this list.
The Venerated skin was co-designed by real-life Medal of Honor recipient Cpt. Florent “Flo” Groberg to honor the men and women who serve the United States during National Military Appreciation month in May of this year.
On top of this, it comes with the Fearless pack, and while the goodies offered by this pack are fantastic on their own, the best part is that all proceeds from buying the Fearless pack go toward the non-profit Call of Duty Endowment. The Call of Duty Endowment assists military veterans in finding high quality careers following their service, so you can feel good while busting up enemies online.
4. Black Forest - Golem
It’s hard to beat out Coalition Operator Golem’s infamous Junk Pile outfit, which basically looks like he joined the battle after sleeping in a nearby dumpster. Of course, he then ups the ante by showing up for combat decked out in a bulky hunting jacket under a full-sized Kodiak bear skin.
It’s like Golem was chilling in a hunter’s lodge in the middle of the woods, saw a bear fur rug in front of the fireplace, and thought it would make a stylish jacket. More likely, he slayed the beast himself, probably with a hunting knife, cattle prod, or camping shovel. Golem doesn’t mess around when it comes to finishing moves.
3. Metal Phantom - Mace
While I do have beef with Mace as he is essentially a beefcake Ghost knockoff, I would never say that to his face because he would probably peel my skull apart like a hard boiled egg shell.
That said, it can’t be disputed how dope this character looks in both his Metal Phantom and Tombstone skins. However, I have to give it to the Metal Phantom version, which pairs up Mace’s nightmarish metal mask with a simple tactical vest, which effectively shows off Mace’s Sequoia-sized arms covered in crocodile skin scarring.
As it is Mace’s standard Operator look, both the character and this skin can be purchased in the Mace Operator bundle. It’s also worth investing into his “Run Through” finishing move, because there are few pairings more satisfying than eviscerating your enemy with a machete while telling them to “Fck Off.”
2. Nightfang - Grinch
Jackal Operator Grinch feels most at home in his trademark gilly suit, hiding quietly among the bushes and thick foliage until BAM. Finishing move with a hardwood cudgel or cement block across the back of the brain.
His Nightfang skin turns this stealthy killer into the CoD manifestation of the Asanbosam, which is a deadly vampiric spirit recognized by certain peoples living in Southern Ghana and parts of Togo. The Asanbosam is known to have iron teeth and metal hooks for feet, as well as an insatiable lust for human blood.
All in all, not so different from the Nightfang Grinch.
Likely the most paralyzing aspect of the Nightfang outfit is the Grinch’s hand carved wooden devil mask. It’s bony-white painted eyes are sure to haunt your dreams for many nights to come.
1. Reckoner - Ghost
Ghost is the most dangerous member of the SAS on this list, and if by looks alone, by far the most fearsome. Camouflaged in many environments within Verdansk, this dark, hooded stealth killer should be known as CoD Warzone’s Grim Reaper. To any opponent unfortunate enough to cross him, death is likely near.
The Reckoner skin only amplifies Ghost’s most fatal traits, donning a hood to cover his skull face; his gloves featuring a pattern resembling a skeletal hand. If you were to replace his darkened Union Jack with a razor sharp scythe, he would be a dead ringer for the Lord of the Underworld. In all reality, he probably has the body count to have earned this designation tenfold.
There are so many formidably stylish Operators available in CoD Warzone, it was hard choosing the best. Still, it’s pretty hard to unleash the full capabilities of any one of the available Operators if you’re sticking with an old gaming engine.
